Beautiful, excellent build quality, and superb grind consistency for all grind settings including espresso. It's also much faster than the manual grinder it replaced, which is awesome for workflow and another indicator of burr quality.

game changer on the extraction

This is a great grinder. Easy to use, consistent grind without a lot of fines. Cleaning and upkeep are simple as can be. Comfortable to use, easy to grip. Grind adjustment is super easy to use and set. I would say this grinder produces a more neutral brew, much less acidic than some other grinders. The folding handle is great and does not take up additional space. The grinder will comfortably hold 26g of whole beans (medium roast arabica) so a full pot of coffee can take 2-3 full grinding sessions.

Suggestions for easier use:

Make the grind adjustment lockable. Its very easy to change the grind when using without proper grip.

Make the grind cup easier to remove. Maybe a positive locking 1/4 turn removal instead of unscrewing with a top heavy grinder.

All in all, this is a fantastic grinder at this price point. Easy to use and clean, low fine production, smooth and balanced brew.

The quality of the grinder is exceptional. The ease of grinding is better than what I had gotten used to. That’s a nice upgrade. The grind of the beans is incredible; consistency like nothing I’ve seen before in any grinder. I would have given five stars except for the slightly too small amount that can be ground at once. My preference would be for about 30% more capacity. I did like it enough to give one as a gift and trusted the quality of Timemore again by ordering their electric kettle also.

The Chestnut S3 feels like a finely crafted machine in my hands. Very precise and very controllable. It also blazes through about 20g of beans in less than 30 seconds at a fairly tight grind setting good for a Moka pot.

Not a coffee expert but this is far beyond the hario it replaced. I do medium and coarse grinds and consistency is good. It is very satisfying to hold in hand and grinds easily.
